Adding a New User
From the login screen, you can add a New User by clicking the New User button
and following the 8 steps below. These steps will help you add data in order to
set the user up in the system.

Click on the New User button

Add the user name you want to log in with. This is a required field.

Enter the appropriate information in the text fields you would like to track.

Click the Next button.
-
The Schedule tab allows you to change calendar information for scheduling
workouts.
-
Click the Next button.
-
The Workouts tab is used to select the types of workouts you would like to use
in EvenFit.
-
Uncheck any of the items you will not be using and you will not see those
options available in EvenFit.
If you are not sure what to choose for the General, Schedule or Workout tab, you
can modify them later by selecting Tools | Options.

Managing Exercises
In the Manage Exercise view, you can add, edit and delete exercises for Weights,
Cardio, Running, Swimming and Biking workouts.

To add an exercise for a specific type of workout, go to Tools | Manage
Exercises.

Click the workout type dropdown to select the type of workout.

Choose the workout type from the dropdown, enter the name of exercise, choose
the muscle group and enter the description.

Click the green check mark or hit the enter key to add the new exercise to the
DataGrid.
-
Click the save and close button to save the changes and close the dialog
window.
Note: When adding a Weights workout, you can choose a muscle group that applies
to the workout. The exercise for your workout will now be saved and will be
available when entering a new workout.

Adding Workouts
Use New Workouts to schedule, track and add to your daily workout activities.
Enter the details and list all exercises for each applicable workout (Weight,
Cardio, Running, Swimming and Biking). The following steps use a Weight Workout
as an example of how to add a workout.

Add exercises via Tools | Manage Exercises to make the exercises available for
your workouts.

Go to File | New | Weight Workout
-
Enter a workout description, location and notes
-
Enter a start time, an end time and check the box if it's an all day event.

Go to the DataGrid and click on the exercise dropdown field to see a list of
exercises you previously defined in Manage Exercises.
-
Choose an exercise.
-
Enter weights, sets, reps, etc. into the DataGrid as needed.
-
Click the enter key or the green check mark to add this exercise to the workout
record.

To edit the columns of the DataGrid
-
Click on the Configure DataGrid icon on the DataGrid toolbar.

Click checkboxes in the Visible column to see the columns on the DataGrid.

Edit the exercise column heading caption by clicking on the default caption and
typing in the revised caption.

To add a totals row in the DataGrid, choose one of the mathematical functions
from the dropdown in the total function column and click the Show Totals Row
checkbox.

To delete an exercise from the DataGrid

Select the exercise you would like to delete in the DataGrid.

Click the red "X" on the DataGrid toolbar.

To reorder exercises in the DataGrid

Select the exercise in the DataGrid.

Click the blue up or down arrow to move the exercise accordingly.
Note: If the DataGrid is grouped, the exercises cannot be moved.

Using the Add/Edit Toobar Button for Exercises
Clicking on the Add/Edit toolbar button for a workout will launch the detail
view for the exercise you have selected in the grid. The Add/Edit view allows
you to make changes, copy or add a new exercise to your workout.

Click on the Add/Edit toolbar button on the exercise grid for a new or existing
workout.

The Add/Edit Workout view appears on top of the exsiting workout and displays
the detail information for the selected row (exercise).

Click the New button to clear the fields on the Add/Edit form. A new row is
added to the data grid of the workout. Enter data in the provided fields. Click
the Save button to save the exercise.

Click the Copy button on the Add/Edit form to copy the exercise you have
selected. Edit or add data to the copied exercise. Click the Save button to
save the current exercise.

Click the Done button to exit the Add/Edit view and return to the current
workout.

Creating Templates
Using Templates helps create a pre-programmed workout in order to track or
schedule several of the same types of workouts. You can save time in scheduling
a workout by using the "Schedule workouts from Template" feature. The following
steps use a Weight Workout as an example of how to create a template.

Add exercises via Tools | Manage Exercises to make the exercises available for
your templates.

Go to File | New | Template | Weights
-
Enter the detail information for the template name and description.

Go to the DataGrid and click on the exercise dropdown field to see a list of
exercises you previously defined in Manage Exercises.

Choose an exercise.
-
Enter weights, sets, reps, etc. into the DataGrid as needed.
-
Click the enter key or the green check mark to add this exercise to the workout
record.
You have saved a template and will be able to schedule a workout from template.
The exercises and detail information will now be displayed in the new workout.
You can add to these items and/or delete rows.

Add a Workout from a Template
Scheduling or tracking workout activities from templates allows you to enter
data more efficiently. This feature is available once a template has been
added.

Add exercises via Tools | Manage Exercises to make the exercises available for
your workouts.

Click on the Template button in the left NavBar.
-
Right mouse click on the Template DataGrid next to the calendar.
-
Select "Add Workout from Template" on the template you would like to use.
-
If needed, modify the detail information or the DataGrid information and click
Save and Close.
Your workout will be saved with the information you added or revised in the
template.

Customizing the DataGrid
The DataGrid for workout activities is highly customizable to fit your
preferences for each workout type. To reorder fields in the DataGrid:

View the exercise DataGrid from a new or existing workout or template.

Select the column on the DataGrid you would like to move by clicking the left
mouse button and holding it down.

Drag the column heading along the grid columns and release the mouse button
when you have picked the position you want this column to be in.

Grouping the DataGrid
You can group the DataGrid by columns. This feature allows you to view the
DataGrid by groups based on a column in the DataGrid. For this example we will
use a weight workout with muscle groups.

Open an existing weight workout.
-
Click on the muscle group column heading and drag it up to the group by area
above the DataGrid where it states "Drag column heading here to add a group".

The DataGrid is now grouped by muscle group.
-
To remove grouping from the DataGrid, simply click on the grouped column
heading and drag it back to the DataGrid.
You can also group the DataGrid using multi-tier grouping. For example, you can
group by muscle groups and by exercise type.

Drag the muscle group column heading up to the top of the group by area of the
DataGrid.
-
Drag the exercise column heading to the group by area to be under the muscle
group heading.
-
The DataGrid is now grouped by muscle groups and sub-grouped by exercise.
-
To remove grouping from the DataGrid, simply click on the grouped column
heading and drag it back to the DataGrid.

Configuring the DataGrid
Each workout type can be configured differently. The Configure Grid icon in the
DataGrid toolbar allows you to choose the columns you want to view in the
specific workout. Follow the below steps to configure the DataGrid:

Open an existing workout activity.

Click on the "Configure" icon above the DataGrid.
-
Select the columns you want to be visible.
-
Check the "Show Totals Row" to show a totals row in the DataGrid.
-
For example, for a Running workout, select "SUM" for the distance column.
Click OK on the configure view and you will see a totals row that sums the all
distance entries for a running workout.

Entering a Wellness Entry
The Wellness Entry is used to track your daily statistics. You can use a
wellness entry to track weight, heart rate, calories, body fat %, blood
pressure and sleep. These can be used to view and compare in the Wellness
charts.

Click on File | New | Wellness
-
Add the information you would like to track.
-
None of the fields are required; you can track whatever you want.
You can enter one wellness entry per day.

Using the Wellness Charts
The Wellness Charts are used to graphically display the data from the wellness
entry form. The charts display the data such as "weight" over a period of time.

Click on the Wellness NavBar button.
-
Select one of the charts you would like to view.

Select Line or Area Chart.
-
To filter by date range, select a one of the selections in the date range
dropdown menu.

Manipulating and saving charts

To expand, lengthen, shorten or shrink the chart, click on the appropriate icon
on the chart toolbar.

Click Save to file for saving to view at a later time.

Click Load from file to browse to a previously saved chart.

Click Print to print a chart.

Using the NavBar
The NavBar is used to navigate through the application. The four areas available
on the NavBar are Calendar, Workouts, Templates and Wellness.

Clicking Calendar will display the calendar. Clicking on a workout in the
calendar will display the detail information for the selected workout.

Clicking Workouts will display the workouts grid on the right side of the
screen. The workouts grid displays all the workouts in the system. Clicking on
one of the workouts in the grid will display the detail information for the
workout.

Clicking Templates will display the all templates you have created in the
application. You can right mouse button on the one of the templates and choose
schedule workout from template to add a new workout.

Clicking Wellness will allow you to view the wellness charts and graphically
view your progress.

Customizing the Main View
You can change the layout of the application by moving the Calendar, DataGrids,
ToolBar and NavBar. The NavBar and Workout/Templates grid can be "tacked" or
"un-tacked". In addition, each window in EvenFit can be "floating" or "docked".
Workout/Template List View
Use the F8 key to toggle the Workout/Template DataGrid on and off. Doing so will
allow you to see more of the detail view or calendar.

Click on the Workout or Template NavBar button.
-
Click the F8 key to toggle the Workout/Template grid on or off.
-
The DataGrid is off by default when the Calendar on the NavBar is selected.

Tacking and un-tacking windows
-
To un-tack the NavBar and/or the Workout/Template grids you simply click on the
"wall tack" icon on the window you would like to manipulate.
-
The window will now "minimize" and allow the other existing windows to expand
to allow more visible detailed information.

Move the mouse over the "un-tacked" window. For example, the NavBar will have a
small menu available on the left hand side of the application.
-
The NavBar will expand temporarily and you can select a different view or
filter.
-
Moving the mouse away from the NavBar will cause the window to "close".
-
To tack the NavBar, move the mouse over the left hand side of the application
and expand the NavBar.
-
Click on the "wall tack" to tack the NavBar open.
-
Moving the mouse away from the NavBar will leave the NavBar in place and
visible at all times. Docking and Floating Windows.
The Calendar, NavBar, ToolBar and Workouts/Templates DataGrid can be moved
around to fit a layout that you prefer to use. The following example will
demonstrate moving the calendar view.
-
Click on the title bar of the calendar.
-
While holding the left mouse button down, drag the calendar to a location on
the screen.
-
As you move the mouse around, an outline of the calendar window will appear and
change location displaying where the calendar will be placed once you release
the mouse button.
If you release the calendar as "floating", it is not attached to any other
window and it will remain on top of all the other windows. You can also release
the window and have it "docked" in a different location on the view.

Backing up your Database
Backing up your database is a critical step to avoid data loss. You will be
prompted each time you exit EvenFit or you can follow the steps below to backup
the database at your convenience.

Click on File | Backup Database
-
Choose a name and location for the backup database. (Note: you cannot overwrite
the existing database you have open)

Select the OK button
-
The database will be save with a file extension of efd
Restoring your Database
-
Click on File | Restore Database
-
Browse to the EvenFit database file (.efd)
-
Click the Open button
-
Click "Yes" if you want to overwrite your existing database
